Tanning Oil recipe

A proportionate portion of a good tanning oil turns out a healthy tan with no side effects, with the right hue of tan. Before lathering the tanning oil onto the skin, the skin has to be exfoliated. Exfoliating removes the dead skin cells and helps in better penetration of the oil. Slather on the oil liberally and rub it into the skin, and sun bathe for the right tone.

Homemade tanning oil: Use refined olive oil, which is rich in nutrients and minerals, as the base of the tanning oil and add a few drops of tincture of iodine, which is a natural protector against sunburn and helps the olive oil to give the lovely golden tan. For a darker tan, add only a few drops of carrot juice to the above.

Tropical Scented Tanning oil: Take half a cup of extra virgin unrefined coconut oil with half a cup of jojoba or extra virgin olive oil, two tablespoons of cocoa butter, and a few drops of coconut fragrance oil and vanilla essential oil. Melt the cocoa butter and coconut oil in a double boiler, remove from heat and add in the jojoba/extra virgin olive oil. Mix the remaining ingredients if desired and stir and pour into a bottle to cool. Give a time period of 12 hours before you use it. Apply the oil when the skin is damp and head out into the sun for that glorious tan.
